Pacific Vacation Booking & Cancellation Policy

Payment Terms

Pacific Vacation requires payment at the time of booking. For bookings made within 90 days of arrival, full payment is required at the time of booking and is non-refundable. However, if you are booking 91 days or more in advance, your payment is divided into two installments:

  • 50% Booking Payment at the time of reservation (non-refundable)

  • Remaining 50% balance due 90 or 120 days before arrival as detailed below

Single Villa Cancellation Policy

  • The Booking Payment (50% at the time of reservation) is always non-refundable, regardless of when you cancel.

  • If you paid your rental in full at the time of booking, you can receive a 50% refund if you cancel at least 90 days before arrival.

  • Within 90 days of arrival, no refunds are given, regardless of how much you've paid.

 

The Estate (Both Villas) Cancellation Policy

  • The Booking Payment made at the time of reservation is non-refundable, no matter when you cancel.

  • If you paid your rental in full at the time of booking, you can receive a 50% refund if you cancel at least 180 days before arrival.

  • Within 120 days of arrival, no refunds are given, regardless of how much you've paid.​​​

Postponing Travel Dates

If you need to postpone your trip, we offer the option to reschedule under the following guidelines:

  • Request Timing: New travel dates must be submitted at least 120 days before your scheduled arrival.

  • How to Request: Email your postponement request to info@staypv.com.

  • Payment Requirement: Your reservation must be paid in full before postponing.

  • Availability & Rates: New dates are subject to availability and possible rate increases.

  • Travel Period: Postponed travel must occur within 12 months of the original reservation.

  • Refund Policy: Opting to postpone eliminates eligibility for a refund. No refunds will be provided for early departures, delayed arrivals, or a reduction in the number of nights reserved for any reason.

Why Private Vacation Rentals Have Different Cancellation Policies Than Hotels

When comparing hotels and private vacation rentals, it’s important to understand why cancellation policies differ. Here’s why private rentals like ours have stricter policies—and why planning ahead matters:

 

Large Group Bookings = Bigger Commitments

Unlike hotels that accommodate 2 guests per room, our villas are designed for larger groups of 8 to 18 guests. When you book with us, we reserve the entire villa exclusively for your group, meaning those dates are removed from availability for all other travelers.

 

Group travel is typically arranged months or even a year in advance, while solo travelers or couples often book hotel stays last minute. If a large group cancels close to the check-in date, it’s extremely difficult to rebook those dates—most groups have already finalized their plans.

Also, private villas aren’t interchangeable like hotel rooms. We can’t simply fill one empty villa room with a solo traveler at the last minute. Group accommodations are in high demand and booked early, so last-minute cancellations often result in lost bookings.

 

Early Preparation Is Key

Getting a villa ready for a large group requires significant planning and coordination. We schedule cleaning crews, maintenance, and often arrange special amenities tailored to your group’s stay. A last-minute cancellation still leaves us covering those costs, which is why our policy is designed to protect both you and us.

 

Limited Airline Service into ZIH

Flying into Zihuatanejo (ZIH), please note that airline service is limited and seats—especially direct flights—sell out quickly. Many routes are seasonal, and year-round service is not available daily from all locations. We strongly recommend booking your flights as early as possible to ensure availability and the best travel experience for your group.

 

Peak Season = Limited Availability

Many guests book during high-demand times like holidays. If a reservation is canceled, we often miss the chance to rebook with another group who was looking for those exact dates.

 

Protect Your Trip

To safeguard your travel investment, travel insurance is available when booking directly at staypv.com. We offer:

  • Basic Coverage at just 7% of your trip cost

  • Cancel For Any Reason (CFAR) coverage at 10%

We highly recommend purchasing travel insurance to cover unexpected changes or emergencies.
