A superb example of original Robert (Bobby) Trent Jones Jr. design, this par 72, 6,898-yard Palma Real Golf Course harmonizes with its environment, which, in fact, is a former coconut plantation that retains its natural lakes, lagoons, and lush tropical vegetation alongside the scenic Pacific coastline. The Sierra Madre Sur provides a panoramic mountainous backdrop. Tradition and complexity are found in this exotic golf course. Ixtapa is one of the region's most difficult courses due to its slopes and ponds with alligators.

Litibu is the PGA Tour course in Ixtapa, Mexico. Greg Norman redesigned the course originally designed by Robert von Hagge as Marina Ixtapa Golf Club (Club de Golf Marina Ixtapa). This course, the newest of the region, opened in March 2010. This course poses constant challenges with 130 sand traps and the perfect balance between aesthetics and nature. With 331 meters of beachfront and virgin forest, this course is considered the best of the exclusive Punta Mita, Nayarit, region. With a circuit different from any other, this challenging course is highly demanding. The first 7 holes are link style, 8 are inside the virgin forest, and the rest are found next to the Pacific Ocean.
