Just outside the main gate of Pacific Vacation—literally a 5-minute walk—you’ll find one of Zihuatanejo’s most unassuming, underrated gems: Coco Bahia Botanas & Tapas. You might miss it if you’re not paying attention. Tucked along the quiet, winding road to Puerto Mio, it doesn’t look like much from the outside… but trust us, don’t pass it by.

This has become one of our favorite local haunts for a casual afternoon drink or easy, relaxed dinner. With sweeping bay views, an open-air patio, and some of the best mojitos we’ve ever had, it hits every mark for a hidden neighborhood favorite.

Why We Love It

Coco Bahia captures everything we love about Zihua—low-key, local, and incredibly welcoming. The staff is always attentive, the food is consistently good, and the drinks are ice cold and refreshing. You can sit and watch the boats come in, enjoy the breeze, and sip something delicious while the fisherfolk work the shoreline below. It’s peaceful, casual, and totally unfussy.

What We Recommend

Mojito – Possibly the best we’ve ever had. Perfectly balanced, not too sweet, and ultra refreshing.
Frozen Cocktails – Ask what’s on rotation—especially good in the afternoon sun.
Tapas & Botanas – Think small plates, great for sharing. We’ve enjoyed everything from fried seafood bites to simple guac and chips with a cold drink.
Catch of the Day – Fresh and local, always a good bet if you’re in the mood for something heartier.
