Like most people, when I’m at home, I don’t eat breakfast, but it’s breakfast every day, all day when I'm on vacation. But sometimes breakfast happens at brunch or lunch, and that’s where bistro Del Mar comes in. Bistro Del Mar is breakfast, brunch, lunch, or dinner on the beach. The walk from Pacific Vacation to bistro Del Mar is a quintessential beach walk down the white beachfront sidewalk on the bay.
So you know when you’re on vacation and sometimes breakfast sounds like a good idea, but you’re just a little bit hungover from the night before? Bistro Del Mar has the care for that. Pizza for breakfast and not just any kind of pizza gourmet pizza. And if eggs are your thing, they can make 100 different ways. Huevos a la Mexicana, Portobello Eggs with Dehydrated Tomato and Pancetta, Huevos Rancheros con Chile Pasilla or Divorciados, Eggs "Bistro del Mar,” Eggs Benedict with Salmon and Spinach, Omelette "Bolívar” and the list goes on and on. Also, I am pretty sure that the last one is named after our local notary number 1. Maybe you need pancakes; they have those too.
I said earlier pizza for breakfast it’s the cure-all. And nothing says pizza for breakfast better than bistro Del Mar. Of course, they have the traditional margarita pizza tomato and basil, Fromaggi, Hawaiian, but the best one is probably the blue cheese pizza. All made on hand-tossed bread and baked in a pizza stove!
Or how about seafood for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. Suppose seafood is your thing that starts with the garlic shrimp, coconut shrimp with mango sauce, chili stuff shrimp mahi-mahi fillets, red snapper, octopus, or seared tuna and keeps getting better from there. And you can also pick up a nice New York ribeye steak with a portobello sauce or a red wine and shrimp garlic sauce. Of course, they have a chicken breast with a mustard sauce on it because they don't do plain old chicken.
The dessert menu is a little short with just Cream Brulé, crapes, flan, chocolate mousse, chocolate cake, banana cake, and mango tacos. However, mango tacos really rock!
